WNYHCC Leadership Series: Give Yourself the Present of Presence

In conjunction with the WNY Healthy Communities Coalition, the Population Health Collaborative presents the Leadership Series. Join us on November 11th for the final installment of this four-part series, Give the Present of Presence.  Is self-care selfish? The quick answer is, absolutely not! We are constantly doing, but what if instead, we choose to be? Building on the August mindfulness workshop, Lisa Napora, PhD will guide you on how to start living in 'being' and provide techniques to find balance during the holidays. You will also revisit the mindfulness self-assessment to see if you've made any changes. In order to attend this series, your organization AND programs must be registered on wnyhealthycommunities.org before the first workshop.  RSVP for all four to receive a certificate of completion. About Lisa Lisa Napora, PhD, is an educator, researcher, system’s thinker and consultant in the areas of Contemplative Education and Contemplative Leadership, specializing in contemplative community building for social change. She serves as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Learning & Instruction at the University at Buffalo, and teaches leadership courses, most recently in the Executive Leadership & Change master’s program at Daemen College. Lisa served as Project Director for the groundbreaking Launching SUNY Initiatives in Mindfulness & Health conference, the first SUNY-funded mindfulness conference, which brought together 400 attendees from 50 institutions of higher education across NY State. In her role as Director of The Mindfulness Alliance, she unites mindfulness practitioners across disciplines, institutions, and organizations, to foster awareness-based social change. She also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Contemplative Inquiry, and the board of the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society, the national hub for contemplative teaching and learning in higher education. Her work supports the infusion of awareness-based practices within all sectors – building bridges to engage whole systems for wellbeing.
